After breakfast, we had been talking to one of the ladies who worked there about our plans for the day and she suggested that we walk to Sentinel Dome. Apparently it is one of her favourite spots and where she takes her friends and family when they visit her. So this morning we headed out of the valley and onto the road that heads towards Glacier Point.
Although we were heading for a car park near to Sentinel Dome, we made a spur of the moment stop at McGurk meadows. We were so glad we did! A short walk rewarded us with a lovely wood where we encountered our first chipmunks and a woodpecker. It then opened out onto the most peaceful, green meadow ever: full of butterflies, dragonflies and insects buzzing. It was truly beautiful.
