Lori’s Diner

This morning we had breakfast in Lori’s 1950s diner. It was pure cliché and no doubt entirely aimed at tourists, but I loved it! It had a jukebox, black & white tiles on the floor, glittery red upholstery and an old 1950s style car sitting right next to us as we ate. It was the perfect setting for my first American breakfast experience!

The food was good too, Mr M went for pancakes, bacon sausage and poached eggs, and I had pancakes with banana, maple syrup and buttermilk. The buttermilk is really odd: tasty, but with a suggestion of fattiness which isn’t entirely pleasant. It was an extremely filling combination of slightly salty pancakes and sweet syrup and fruit.
